What the title said. You can actually manage your stuff in a way that makes sense. You can see how much space you have left. You are able to connect to stuff like SMB shares, and even save them. That even works over VPN connections, which, having a Home NAS with a VPN, is absolutely amazing. Like, whatever this cr*p Xiaomi pre-installed on my phone is is just unusable compared to this app. Highly recommended.

5 stars for still being the best ad free file manager at the moment. It doesn't mean it's perfect. It lacks a lot of features others have here and there but it offers the basic file manager functions within a clean intuitive UI. It's not customizable with skins, themes, etc. nor it has tons of settings, rather it focuses on productivity and connectivity. That's what a file manager is supposed to do. I just wish there would be an automatic clean trash system.

This is the best file explorer for android I have seen. I especially enjoy the fairly user friendly means of transferring files to/from a shared folder on Win Desktop PCs. Two things prevent 5 stars: 1. audio playback is rudimentary and skips occasionally (even on local file, i.e. not network issue), and 2. the app does not remember "last used folders" for copying files to. It remembers them for a while, then randomly forgets. Should be possible to "favorite" target folders. Otherwise perfect.
