It's ok and you quickly see the photo from the negative, but the photo quality is VERY bad (heavily pixelated and grainy). The result isn't something you would probably want printed. The controls need to be improved and the app is limited to 3 days then requires purchasing to continue using it (considering the photo quality it isn't worth buying as there are USB connected negative scanners that are considerably better).

Hold the negative 2 inches (5 cm) away from the computer screen in order not to have the image pixelated. The camera needs to see the side holes to crop properly. Please try again and let us know how it goes. Please reach out to support@photomyne.com so we can assist on how to get the best scanning results.

Great app. Works well to pull pictures off negatives. It would be good to be able to zoom in. My camera seemed confused by which lense to use and there were no options for controlling that in the app. Also the auto crop was sometimes way off and I had to correct the cropping for 75-80% of the pictures. So it would be nice to be able to turn that off as an option.

Thank you for reaching out. There is an option within the app to crop your scans manually. Click on the cropping icon on the bottom of the screen - second icon from the left. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to support@photomyne.com and we'll gladly assist.

As others described, cropping and curled negatives are a difficult to manage - a 2nd pass in an editor to crop, color. Worst part is mobile - PC interface. Many times shots show on mobile, but desktop msg is "no photos available". I gave this a 50 strip test - just to glitchy to do more. I can almost live with low quality photos, but the time it takes to redo and keep track is a deal-buster for me.
